parkrun is one of my favourite things about running. They’re free, timed 5ks happening all over the UK (and the world!) every Saturday. You just turn up with your barcode (register for that here) and then show up to whichever one you fancy going to and run it (or walk it!). No one is too slow or fast, you’ll never be last and it’s always a welcoming and friendly environment.
Obviously the best source of info regarding parkruns can be found on their website but I wanted to provide some more personal and in depth insights into different parkruns for people to use. I know when I go to a new parkrun it’s always nice to know what to expect (like whether there’s a cafe, the elevation of the course and anything random!). This is an ever-growing list so more and more will be added as time goes on.
- Netley Abbey parkrun (my home parkrun)
- Newcastle parkrun
- Riverside parkrun
- Northampton parkrun
- Burgess parkrun
- Edinburgh parkrun
- Stewart parkrun
- Southsea parkrun
- Oxford parkrun
